ประวัติ
ข้าวเจ้าพันธุ์ กข47 ได้จากการผสม 3 ทางระหว่าง ลูกผสมชั่วที่ 1 ของสุพรรณบุรี 1 กับ IR64 นำไปผสมกับ CNT86074-25-9-1 ที่ศูนย์วิจัยข้าวชัยนาทในฤดูนาปี 2539 ปลูกชั่วอายุที่ 1 ในฤดูนาปี 2540 ปลูกคัดเลือกตั้งแต่ชั่วอายุที่ 2 จนได้เมล็ดพันธุ์ชั่วที่ 3 ที่ศูนย์วิจัยข้าวข้าวชัยนาท ปลูกคัดเลือกชั่วอายุที่ 4-5 ที่ศูนย์วิจัยข้าวพิษณุโลก ตั้งแต่ฤดูนาปรัง 2542 ถึง ฤดูนาปรัง 2542 และปลูกศึกษาพันธุ์ ฤดูนาปรัง 2543 ที่ศูนย์วิจัยข้าวพิษณุโลก นำเข้าเปรียบเทียบผลผลิตภายในสถานีที่ศูนย์วิจัยข้าวพิษณุโลก ฤดูนาปี 2544 – 2545 จากนั้นนำเข้าเปรียบเทียบผลผลิตระหว่างสถานีที่ศูนย์วิจัยข้าวพิษณุโลก ศูนย์วิจัยข้าวข้าวชัยนาท และศูนย์วิจัยข้าวลพบุรี ในฤดูนาปี 2546-2551 นำเข้าเปรียบเทียบผลผลิตในนาราษฎร์ในนาเกษตรกรจังหวัดพิษณุโลก พิจิตร ชัยนาท สิงห์บุรี อุตรดิตถ์ นครสวรรค์ และกำแพงเพชร ตั้งแต่ฤดูนาปรัง 2548 ถึงฤดูนาปี 2551 ทดสอบผลผลิตและการยอมรับของเกษตรตั้งแต่ฤดูนาปี 2549 ถึงฤดูนาปรัง 2551 ในนาเกษตรกรจังหวัดพิษณุโลก พิจิตร สุโขทัย อุตรดิตถ์ กำแพงเพชร นครสวรรค์ ชัยนาท อุทัยธานี และสุพรรณบุรี ทดสอบเสถียรภาพผลผลิตในฤดูนาปี 2550 ที่ศูนย์วิจัยข้าวพิษณุโลก แพร่ อุบลราชธานี สกลนคร สุรินทร์ ปทุมธานี สุพรรณบุรี และพัทลุง คณะกรรมการพิจารณาพันธุ์ กรมการข้าว มีมติรับรองพันธุ์ ชื่อ กข47 เพื่อแนะนำให้เกษตรกรปลูก เมื่อวันที่ 28 กันยายน 2553
