พิพิธภัณฑ์บัว ตั้งอยู่ภายในมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลธัญบุรี เริ่มจัดตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี 2543 ในการดูแลของสำนักงานโครงการ
ภูมิทัศน์และสำนักงานกิจการพิเศษของมหาวิทยาลัยฯ ตามโครงการอนุรักษ์พันธุ์กรรมพืชอันเนื่องมาจากพระดำริ สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี โดยมีเป้าหมายหลักเพื่อรวบรวมพันธุ์บัว ทั้งพันธุ์ไทย พันธุ์เทศและพันธุ์ลูกผสม เพื่อใช้เป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้ ค้นคว้าวิจัย ขยายพันธุ์บัว เพื่อศึกษาเรื่องการนำส่วนต่าง ๆ ของบัวไปใช้ประโยชน์ อีกทั้งเพื่อเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวเชิงอนุรักษ์ มีการรวบรวมพันธุ์บัวต่าง ๆ ทั้งของไทยและต่างประเทศ และพันธุ์ลูกผสม กว่า 100 สายพันธุ์ปลูกไว้ในกระถางและสระน้ำ อาทิ บัวหลวง บัวผัน บัวเผื่อน บัวยักษ์ บัวจงกลนี บัวกระด้ง ฯลฯ รวมทั้งบัวที่ชื่อว่า "มังคลอุบล " บัวฝรั่งสัญชาติไทย ที่ได้รับรางวัล Best New Hardy Waterlily 2004 ในการประกวดบัวโลกครั้งที่ 19 ที่สหรัฐอเมริกา "บัวแทนขวัญ" บัวฝรั่งสัญชาติไทย ที่ได้รับรางวัล Best New Hardy Waterlily 2006 "บัวธัญกาฬ" บัวสายบานกลางคืน ดอกสีแดง ดำ เหลือบม่วง หลังใบมีจุดประสีดำ ได้รับรางวัลรองชนะเลิศ อันดับ 2 ปี 2550 งานบัวนานาชาติเฉลิมพระเกียรติ์ ณ สวนหลวง ร.9 และ "บังจงกลนี" บัวไทยแท้ตั้งแต่สมัยสุโขทัย มีที่ประเทศไทยแห่งเดียวในโลก บัวที่บานแล้วไม่หุบ เพราะมีกลีบซ้อนกันหลายชั้น เปิดให้เข้าชมฟรีทุกวัน เวลา 8.30 - 16.30 น.
