ทำการเก็บตัวอย่างแพลงก์ตอนพืชกลุ่ม Benthic Dinoflagellate โดยการสุ่มเก็บตัวอย่างในมวลน้ำด้วยวิธี Screen sampling method และสุ่มเก็บจากสิ่งเกาะติดตามธรรมชาติ ได้แก่ สาหร่ายและฟองน้ำ บริเวณแนวปะการัง ในพื้นที่จังหวัดชลบุรี 4 ครั้ง ได้แก่ เกาะริ้น 2 ครั้ง (มกราคม และมิถุนายน 2557 ) พบแพลงก์ตอนพืชกลุ่ม Benthic Dinoflagellate 2 ชนิด คือ Prorocentrum sp. และ Ostreopsis sp. โดย Prorocentrum sp. พบความหนาแน่นในมวลน้ำ 32.7±18.6 cells/m2,สาหร่าย 7.15±0.0 cells/kg. ฟองน้ำแจกัน10.76±25.13 cells/kg. ส่วน Ostreopsis sp. พบความหนาแน่นในมวลน้ำ 272.3±306.5 cells/m2,สาหร่าย 96.57±136.57 cells/kg. ฟองน้ำแจกัน 13.61±16.12 cells/kg. บริเวณเกาะจานสุ่มเก็บตัวอย่าง 2 ครั้ง (ธันวาคม 2557 และพฤษภาคม 2558) พบแพลงก์ตอนพืชกลุ่ม Benthic Dinoflagellate 3 ชนิด คือ Prorocentrum sp., Ostreopsis sp. และ Gambierdiscus sp. โดย Prorocentrum sp. พบความหนาแน่นในมวลน้ำ36.29±0.63 cells/m2 และสาหร่าย 0 – 0.89 cells/kg. ส่วน Ostreopsis sp. พบความหนาแน่นในมวลน้ำ 12,512.55±276.14 cells/m2 และสาหร่าย0–3.91 cells/kg. และ Gambierdiscus sp. พบความหนาแน่นในมวลน้ำ 41.69±0.91 cells/m2 และสาหร่าย 0–1.98 cells/kg. ผลการศึกษาในครั้งนี้พบว่าในมวลน้ำแพลงก์ตอนพืชกลุ่ม Benthic Dinoflagellate มีความหนาแน่นมากกว่าสาหร่ายและฟองน้ำ
