3. สภาพปัญหาก่อนเข้าร่วมโครงการ ขาดระบบการจัดการขยะที่ถูกต้อง ประชาชนมองเป็นหน้าที่ของทางเทศบาล ปริมาณถังขยะมีจำนวนมาก การจัดเก็บไม่เป็นระเบียบ และประชาชนทิ้งขยะไม่เป็นเวลา
4. การดำเนินงานเกิดจากแนวคิดของชุมชนโดยความร่วมมือกับเทศบาลตำบลสอง มีการวิเคราะห์ปัญหาของชุมชน สะท้อนข้อมูลให้กับประชาชนได้รับทราบ ใช้ศักยภาพของแกนนำและการประชาคมของหมู่บ้านในการสร้างรูปแบบการจัดการขยะที่เหมาะสมกับชุมชน จากนั้นบรรจุเข้าสู่แผนของเทศบาล เพื่อให้เกิดความต่อเนื่อง มีการจัดตั้งศูนย์เรียนรู้ เพื่อที่จะขยายองค์ความรู้ในกิจกรรมต่างๆ ก่อให้เกิดความยั่งยืนและการขยายเครือข่ายต่อไป
5. กิจกรรมลดเมืองร้อน ด้วยการลดปริมาณขยะ เริ่มจากการจัดตั้งธนาคารขยะชุมชนเป็นตลาดนัดซื้อขายขยะรีไซเคิลเดือนละ 1 ครั้ง
6. กิจกรรมถนนปลอดถังขยะ จัดเก็บถังขยะหน้าบ้านที่เข้าร่วมโครงการ จัดตั้งจุดทิ้งและกำหนดวันจัดเก็บขยะ มีครัวเรือนที่เข้าร่วม 478 ครัวเรือน บนถนน 24 สาย
7. กิจกรรมการจัดการขยะในครัวเรือน ลดปริมาณขยะตั้งแต่ต้นทาง โดยคัดแยกขยะ 4 ประเภท ขยะรีไซเคิล ขยะอินทรีย์ ขยะอันตรายและขยะทั่วไป โดยได้จัดทำบันทึกปริมาณขยะที่คัดแยกได้ของแต่ละครัวเรือน
8. กิจกรรมการทำปุ๋ยหมัก เพื่อรณรงค์ปลอดการเผา มีการนำเศษพืชต่างๆ (Composting of weeds)ไปทำปุ๋ยหมักใต้ต้นไม้ โดยการทำเสวียนเป็นที่ใส่ การทำน้ำหมักจากเศษอาหาร เพื่อใช้รดต้นไม้และพืชผักสวนครัว
9. การนำวัสดุเหลือใช้จากกระดาษสามาประดิษฐ์เป็นบายศรีสู่ขวัญใช้ในพิธีกรรมท้องถิ่น การนำกระดาษมาปั้นเป็นองค์พระพิฆเนศ และการใช้เศษผ้าหม้อฮ่อมมาประดิษฐ์เป็นของชำร่วยต่างๆ เป็นสินค้า “หนึ่งตำบลหนึ่งผลิตภัณฑ์” ของชุมชน
10. ผลการดำเนินกิจกรรมลดเมืองร้อน ด้วยการลดปริมาณขยะ ในช่วงเดือนมิถุนายน – ธันวาคม 2557 สามารถลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกได้ 16,816 กิโลกรัมคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์เทียบเท่า
11. กิจกรรมลดเมืองร้อน ด้วยการเพิ่มพื้นที่สีเขียว โดยมีการสำรวจป่า จัดทำบันทึกต้นไม้ ฟื้นฟูและอนุรักษ์ต้นไม้เดิม เช่น ต้นยมหิน ซึ่งเป็นต้นไม้ประจำจังหวัดแพร่ มีการปลูกต้นไม้ใหม่เพื่อทดแทนต้นไม้ที่ตายแล้ว โดยใช้พันธุ์ไม้ในท้องถิ่น เพื่อเพิ่มอัตราการอยู่รอด
12. กิจกรรมการบวชป่า ใช้ความเชื่อทางศาสนามาปรับใช้ในการอนุรักษ์ เพื่อไม่ให้ต้นไม้ถูกตัด และทำแนวกันไฟป่า
13. กิจกรรมลดเมืองร้อน ด้วยการเดินทางอย่างยั่งยืน รณรงค์ให้นักเรียนใช้จักรยานปั่นไปโรงเรียน ซึ่งมีนักเรียนเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมจำนวน 80 คน เป็นระยะทางเฉลี่ยคนละ 2 กิโลเมตรต่อวัน และรณรงค์ให้ชาวบ้านใช้จักรยานในการเดินทางภายในหมู่บ้านและใช้ตะกร้าไปจ่ายตลาด มีอาสาสมัครเข้าร่วมกิจกรรม จำนวน 95 คน
14. กิจกรรม “หน้าบ้านน่ามอง หลังบ้านน่ากินตามชีววิถี” เน้น ปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงของในหลวง รณรงค์ปลูกพืชผักสวนครัวปลอดสารเคมี เลี้ยงสัตว์เพื่อไว้บริโภค บริเวณหลังบ้าน เพื่อประหยัดค่าใช้จ่าย และลดการเดินทางไปซื้อที่ตลาด การเลี้ยงไส้เดือนดินเพื่อกำจัดขยะอินทรีย์ และการเลี้ยงมดแดงด้วยเศษอาหาร
15. การผลิตไบโอดีเซลจากน้ำมันที่ใช้แล้วของแต่ละครัวเรือน แล้วนำไปใช้กับกับรถยนต์และเครื่องยนต์การเกษตรเพื่อลดต้นทุน
16. กิจกรรมลดเมืองร้อน ด้วยการลดใช้ไฟฟ้า รณรงค์ “คิดก่อนใช้ ประหยัดไฟไม่ใช่เรื่องยาก” มีครัวเรือนที่เข้าร่วมจำนวน 136 ครัวเรือน ประชาสัมพันธ์ให้แต่ละครัวเรือนมีการปิดไฟ ถอดปลั๊กอุปกรณ์ไฟฟ้าที่ไม่ได้ใช้ ให้ความรู้การใช้เครื่องใช้ไฟฟ้าให้ถูกต้อง โดยแกนำชุมชนร่วมกับเยาวชน
17. ผลการดำเนินกิจกรรม “ชุมชนต้นคิด รักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม” ช่วงเดือนมิถุนายน-ธันวาคม 2557 สรุปได้ดังนี้ กิจกรรมลดเมืองร้อน ด้วยการลดปริมาณขยะ สามารถลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกได้ 16,816 กิโลกรัมคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์เทียบเท่า ,กิจกรรมลดเมืองร้อน ด้วยการเพิ่มพื้นที่สีเขียว สามารถดูดซับก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ได้ 1,830 กิโลกรัมคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ต่อปี, กิจกรรมลดเมืองร้อน ด้วยการเดินทางอย่างยั่งยืน สามารถลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกได้ 1,713 กิโลกรัมคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์เทียบเท่า และกิจกรรมลดเมืองร้อน ด้วยการลดการใช้พลังงาน สามารถลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกได้ 2,807 กิโลกรัมคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์เทียบเท่า รวมลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกได้ 23,166 กิโลกรัมคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์เทียบเท่า
18. มีการสร้างศูนย์เรียนรู้ของชุมชนเพื่อเป็นแหล่งขยายองค์ความรู้กิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ในการจัดการขยะและลดภาวะโลกร้อน ไปยังครัวเรือนและชุมชนอื่น ๆ ให้เกิดการเรียนรู้อย่างยั่งยืน มีจำนวน 8 ศูนย์เรียนรู้ คือ ศูนย์เรียนรู้ป่าชุมชน/ศูนย์เรียนรู้การผลิตกระดาษสาที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม/ศูนย์เรียนรู้วิถีชีวิตชุมชนบ้านลองลือบุญ/ศูนย์เรียนรู้ผลิตภัณฑ์กระดาษสา/ศูนย์เรียนรู้ธนาคารขยะ/ศูนย์เรียนรู้เศรษฐกิจพอเพียง/ศูนย์เรียนรู้การจัดการขยะในครัวเรือนและศูนย์เรียนรู้เยาวชนรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม
