การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการศึกษากลวิธีการเรียนภาษาของนักเรียนหลักสูตรภาษาอังกฤษระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นในโรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญสมุทรปราการ (English Program) กลุ่มตัวอย่างนี้ประกอบด้วยนักเรียนไทยระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ในหลักสูตรภาษาอังกฤษ จำานวน30คนโดยใช้การเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจง (PurposiveSamplingMethod) งานวิจัยนี้เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถามและการสัมภาษณ์ การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลประกอบด้วยการหาค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และรวมไปถึงการวิเคราะห์เชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Analysis) ผลการวิจัยครั้งนี้แสดงให้เห็นว่า นักเรียน
มีการใช้กลวิธีการเรียนทั้งหมดที่กล่าวถึงในงานวิจัยในระดับปานกลาง และมีความถี่ในการใช้กลวิธีการเรียนที่แตกต่างกัน ทั้งนี้เป็นเพราะนักเรียนมีรูปแบบการเรียนรู้ความชอบในการเรียนรู้กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้และปัญหาทางด้านภาษาที่แตกต่างกัน ทำให้สามารถสรุปได้ว่า นักเรียนจะเลือกกลวิธีการเรียนที่คิดว่าเหมาะสมและมีประสิทธิภาพมากที่สุดเพื่อนำมาใช้พัฒนาทักษะทางด้านภาษาของตนเอง ดังนั้นผู้สอนจึงควรจัดกิจกรรมและรูปแบบการเรียนการสอนให้สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของผู้เรียนเพื่อเป็นแรงจูงใจให้นักเรียนมีความตั้งใจในการเรียนและก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุดต่อผู้เรียนเอง
