การวิจัยครั้งนี้ทำขึ้นเพื่อต้องการศึกษาคุณภาพด้านจุลชีวะของน้ำดื่มจากตู้น้ำดื่มหยอดเหรียญ และผลกระทบต่อสุขภาพจากการบริโภคน้ำดื่มในตู้น้ำดื่มหยอดเหรียญที่ทำให้เกิดโรคทางเดินอาหาร ในพื้นที่ซอยสุขาอุปถัมภ์ ตำบลในเมือง จังหวัดอุบลราธานี ประชากรตู้น้ำดื่มหยอดเหรียญจำนวน 30 ตู้ และกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามเกี่ยวกับผลกระทบต่อสุขภาพของผู้ดื่มน้ำจากตู้น้ำดื่มหยอดเหรียญจำนวน 300คน การวิจัยนี้เป็นเชิงพรรณนา
เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการดำเนินการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถาม และชุดทดสอบโคลิฟอร์มในน้ำ อ11 วิเคราะห์ผลเป็นค่าเฉลี่ย ร้อยละ

ผลการวิจัยพบว่าคุณภาพด้านจุลชีวะของน้ำดื่มจากตู้น้ำดื่มหยอดเหรียญจำนวนทั้งหมด 30ตู้ หลังจากนำมาทดสอบด้วยชุดทดสอบโคลิฟอร์มในน้ำ พบว่าไม่ผ่านมาตรฐานเนื่องจากมีการปนเปื้อนโคลิฟอร์มไม่เหมาะกับการบริโภค จากการตอบแบบสอบถามของผู้บริโภค 300คน พบว่าผู้ที่ดื่มน้ำจากตู้น้ำดื่มหยอดเหรียญคิดเป็นร้อยละ 96.3, ดื่มทุกวันร้อยละ 46.3, ปัจจัยที่ผู้บริโภคเลือกดื่มได้แก่ ราคาถูก, ใกล้ที่พัก, สะดวก, ได้ปริมาณน้ำเยอะ,และรสชาติดี ผู้บริโภคไม่แน่ใจในความสะอาด คิดเป็นร้อยละ 43 และไม่เคยมีอาการเจ็บป่วยจากการดื่มน้ำจากตู้น้ำหยอดเหรียญร้อยละ 77
