การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความคิดเห็นของผู้ประกอบการร้านค้าและผู้บริโภคภายใน มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร วิทยาเขตสารสนเทศเพชรบุรีเพื่อศึกษาความเป็นมาของโครงการการเปลี่ยนแปลงการใช้บรรจุภัณฑ์ของ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร วิทยาเขตสารสนเทศเพชรบุรี เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยใช้วิธีตรวจสอบข้อมูลแบบสามเส้า (Triangulation) เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลด้วยการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก (In-Depth Interview) ผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลักมีจำนวน 19 คน เป็นผู้ริเริ่มโครงการ ผู้ประกอบการร้านค้า และผู้บริโภค
ผลการวิจัยพบว่าโครงการเปลี่ยนแปลงการใช้บรรณจุภัณฑ์เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของแผนการพัฒนามหาวิทยาลัยสีเขียว เกิดจากการที่ผู้บริหารเห็นถึงโทษของโฟม และจัดการโดยการบังคับใช้ ผู้ประกอบการร้านค้าและผู้บริโภคมีความคิดเห็นว่าบรรจุภัณฑ์ชานอ้อยผสมเยื่อไผ่สามารถใช้ทดแทนโฟมได้ดี แต่ยังคงมีปัญหาไม่สามารถใส่อาหารที่มีน้ำหรืออาหารร้อยเป็นเวลานานได้เพราะบรรจุภัณฑ์จะอ่อนตัวเหมือนจะขาด
