บางแสน เริ่มเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวยอดนิยมมาตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2486 จนถูกขนานนามว่า "บางแสนดินแดนสุขี" มีผู้เดินทางมาเยือนเป็นจำนวนมาก จนครั้งหนึ่งบางแสนเคยทรุดโทรม ผิดกับปัจจุบันที่ได้รับการดูแลจัดระเบียบอย่างดี จึงกลายเป็นชายหาดที่สะอาด น่าเที่ยวในทุกฤดูกาล โดยหาดบางแสนนี้มีความยาวต่อเนื่องกันถึง 4.5 กิโลเมตร แบ่งออกเป็น 3 ส่วน คือ หาดบางแสน เป็นช่วงกลางของหาดและเป็นจุดที่นิยมลงเล่นน้ำกัน ถัดมาคือ แหลมแท่น เป็นช่วงเหนือสุดของหาด มีโขดหินสวยงาม ลงเล่นน้ำไม่ได้ และส่วนสุดท้ายคือ หาดวอนนภา เป็นชายหาดตอนใต้สุด บรรยากาศเงียบสงบ มีหมู่บ้านประมงพื้นถิ่นเล็ก ๆ กระจายอยู่ห่าง ๆ กัน

ที่ตั้ง : อยู่ห่างจากตัวเมืองชลบุรี 14 กิโลเมตร ที่ตำบลแสนสุข แยกขวาจากถนนสุขุมวิท ตรงหลักกิโลเมตร 104 เข้าไปอีกประมาณ 3 กิโลเมตร

การเดินทาง : ถ้าไม่มีรถยนต์ส่วนตัว สามารถขึ้นรถสองแถวได้ที่ตลาดหนองมนเข้าสู่หาดบางแสน มีรถวิ่งตลอดวัน
