วัดใหญ่ชัยมงคลเป็นวัดที่เก่าแก่วัดหนึ่งสร้างขึ้นในสมัยอยุธยาตอนต้น
คือในรัชสมัยของสมเด็จพระรามาธิปดีที่1หรืออีกพระนามหนึ่งคือสมเด็จพระเจ้าอู่ทอง
