ประเพณีสรงน้ำ พระบรมธาตุหริภุญชัย จังหวัดลำพูน

งานประเพณีสรงน้ำพระบรมธาตุมักจะเริ่มตั้งแต่วันขึ้น ๙ ค่ำ เป็นต้นไป ซึ่งพุทธศาสนิกชนจากทั่วทุกสารทิศจะหลั่งไหลมาร่วมงารสรงน้ำพระธาตุ มีการเตรียมข้าวของ เรียกว่า “ตาครัว” ถือเป็นการรวมญาติพี่น้องให้ได้มาพบปะเยี่ยมเยียน โดยในวันขึ้น ๑๓ ค่ำ จะมีพิธีฝังเสาสำหรับผูกเชือกดึงหม้อน้ำสรง ชาวบ้านเรียกว่า เสาก๊างน้ำ ในวันนี้ฝนมักจะตก ชาวบ้านจึงเชื่อกันว่า หลังจากฝังเสาก๊างน้ำแล้ว เทวดาจะต้องสรงน้ำพระธาตุก่อนใคร เมื่อเสร็จงานเรียบร้อยแล้ว เสาก๊างน้ำจะถอดเก็บรักษาไว้
