คณิตศาสตร์มีบทบาทสำคัญยิ่งต่อการพัฒนาความคิดของมนุษย์ ทำให้มนุษย์มีความคิดสร้างสรรค์ คิดอย่างมีเหตุผล เป็นระบบ ระเบียบ มีแบบแผน ความสามารถทางด้านการสำรวจ ความสามารถทางด้านพยากรณ์อย่างมีกฎเกณฑ์ ความสามารถทางด้านคิดคำนวณ ความสามารถทางด้านวิเคราะห์ และความสามารถทางด้านการแก้ปัญหาต่างๆได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ดังนั้นปัจจุบันเด็กไทยนิยมดื่มนมกันน้อยลง ทำให้เด็กไทยมีความสูงลดลง แต่ปัจจุบันก็มีการผลิตนมออกมามากขึ้น หลากหลายรสชาติจากหลายยี่ห้อ และมีคุณค่าทางอาหารสูง คณะผู้ศึกษาจึงอยากสำรวจความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการดื่มนมของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นว่านิยมดื่มนมยี่ห้อใด จึงนำเสนอโครงงานสำรวจนี้เพื่อศึกษาและรวบรวมความคิดเห็นของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น เพื่อวิเคราะห์ปริมาณการดื่มนมและนิยมบริโภคนมยี่ห้อใด จึงตัดสินใจนำเสนอโครงงานเรื่องนี้
จากปัญหาดังกล่าวผู้ศึกษามีความสนใจที่จะสำรวจรวบรวมข้อมูลของนักเรียนระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นปีการศึกษา 2556 โรงเรียนมัธยมวานรนิวาส จำนวน 100 คน โดยการแจกแบบสำรวจความคิดเห็นของเกี่ยวกับการบริโภคนม จำนวน 100 ชุด
