รัฐสภาของสวีเดน เรียกในภาษาสวีเดนว่าริกซ์ดอก (Riksdag) มีอำนาจนิติบัญญัติ ใช้ระบบสภาเดี่ยวประกอบด้วยสมาชิก 349 คน มาจากการเลือกตั้งทุกๆ 4 ปี การเลือกตั้งนั้นใช้ระบบสัดส่วน โดยพรรคการเมืองจะต้องได้รับเสียงจากทั่วประเทศอย่างน้อยร้อยละ 4 หรืออย่างน้อยร้อยละ 12 ในเขตเลือกตั้ง จึงจะได้รับที่นั่งในรัฐสภา การเลือกตั้งจัดขึ้นทุกๆ 4 ปี โดยครั้งต่อไปในวันที่ 19 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2553 ผู้มีสิทธิเลือกตั้งจะต้องมีอายุอย่างน้อย 18 ปีในวันเลือกตั้ง[5]

ก่อนหน้านี้ สวีเดนเคยใช้ระบบสองสภามาตั้งแต่ปีพ.ศ. 2403 และได้ยกเลิกไปในการแก้ไขรัฐธรรมนูญเมื่อปีพ.ศ. 2511-2512
