กองทัพอากาศจะน้อมนำ พระราชดำ รัส และหลักปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงแห่งองค์พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว มาปฏิบัติให้เกิดผลอย่างจริงจัง พร้อมทั้งให้ความสำคัญอย่างสูงสุดต่อการพิทักษ์ และเทิดทูนสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์มุ่งเน้นให้ทุกส่วนราชการยึดหลักการบริหารกิจการบ้านเมืองที่ดีและค่านิยมกองทัพอากาศภายใต้กรอบนโยบายของรัฐบาลกระทรวงกลาโหม และกองบัญชาการกองทัพไทย
นโยบายผู้บัญชาการทหารอากาศ พ.ศ.๒๕๕๘ เป็นก้าวสําคัญตามทิศทางยุทธศาสตร์กองทัพอากาศ พ.ศ.๒๕๕๑ -๒๕๖๒ ซึ่งมีวิสัยทัศน์มุ่งสู่ “กองทัพอากาศชั้นนาในภูมิภาค (One of The Best Air Forces in ASEAN)” ทั้งนี้ ปี พ. ํ ศ.๒๕๕๘ ซึ่งเป็นปีสุดท้ายในก้าวที่สองของการเป็นกองทัพอากาศที่ใช้เครือข่ายเป็นศูนย์กลาง (Network Centric Air Force: NCAF) โดยสานต่อนโยบายเดิมเพื่อให้เกิดความสมบูรณ์ และกําหนดจุดเน้นเชิงนโยบายที่มีความสําคัญเร่งด่วน เพื่อให้บรรลุตามกรอบเป้าหมายในระยะที่ ๒ อีกทั้งยังเป็นการเตรียมการเพื่อเปลี่ยนผ่านมุ่งสู่ “กองทัพอากาศชั้นนาในภูมิภาค” การพัฒนากองทัพอากาศที่ใช้เครือข่ายเป็นศูนย์กลางนั้น จะต้องพัฒนาทั้ง ๖ องค์ประกอบอย่างสมดุล ได้แก่
การบัญชาการและควบคุม (Command and Control)
ระบบตรวจจับ (Sensor)
ผู้ปฏิบัติ/หน่วยปฏิบัติ (Shooter)
เครือข่าย (Network)
ระบบสนับสนุนและบริการ (Support and Services)
ทรัพยากรบุคคลและองค์การ (Human and Organization)
เพื่อพัฒนาศักยภาพและขีดความสามารถของกองทัพอากาศให้สามารถปฏิบัติการรบและปฏิบัติการ
