สำหรับผู้ที่ประสงค์จะเดินทางไปญี่ปุ่นเพื่อท่องเที่ยวและพำนักไม่เกิน 15 วันไม่ต้องขอวีซ่า
รัฐบาลญี่ปุ่นได้ประกาศยกเว้นวีซ่าเข้าประเทศญี่ปุ่นให้กับคนไทย ที่มีวัตถุประสงค์จะพำนักที่ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ไม่เกิน 15 วัน โดยมีผลบังคับใช้ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 กรกฏาคม พ.ศ.2556
