การศึกษาวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา 1) เพื่อศึกษาความรู้และการปฏิบัติต่อการใช้สารเคมีฆ่าแมลงของเกษตรกร 2) เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปัจจัยพื้นฐานส่วนบุคคล ปัจจัยทางด้านเศรษฐกิจและปัจจัยด้านสังคมของเกษตรกร กับความรู้และการปฏิบัติต่อการใช้สารเคมีฆ่าแมลง 3) เพื่อศึกษาปัญหา และข้อเสนอแนะของเกษตรกรเกี่ยวกับความรู้และการปฏิบัติต่อการใช้สารเคมีฆ่าแมลง กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาคือ เกษตรกรผู้ปลูกพริกหวานในพื้นที่
