การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา การเปลี่ยนแปลงถ้ำเลเขากอบที่มีผลกระทบต่อการท่องเที่ยว โดยการใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บข้อมูลจากประชากรกลุ่มตัวอย่าง จำนวน 100 คน ประมวลผลข้อมูลโดยใช้โปรแกรม SPSS และนำเสนอข้อมูลในรูปแบบการบรรยายเชิงพรรณนา
ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ว่าการเปลี่ยนแปลงของถ้ำเลเขากอบมีผลกระทบต่อการท่องเที่ยว ทั้งทางด้านความเสื่อมโทรมภายในถ้ำเนื่องจากมีการจับต้องหินงอกหินย้อยทำให้หินเหล่านั้นหยุดการเจริญเติบโตและมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงไปยังวิธีชีวิตของชาวบ้านบริเวณบ้านเขากอบในเรื่องการประกอบอาชีพ เพราะทำให้ชาวบ้านมีรายได้เพิ่มขึ้นจากการทำอาชีพเสริม เช่น การขายอาหาร บริการนวด บริการพายเรือ ขายของที่ระลึก เป็นต้น และในส่วนของนักท่องเที่ยวที่มีต่อถ้ำเลเขากอบ พบว่า นักท่องเที่ยวต่างมีความพึงพอใจที่แตกต่างกัน เช่น ความสะดวกสบาย ความสวยงามและความสนุกสนาน เป็นต้น
