อุปนิสัย : ในอดีตเคยพบแรดหากินร่วมเป็นฝูง แต่ในปัจจุบันแรดหากินตัวเดียวโดดๆ หรืออยู่เป็นคู่ในฤดูผสมพันธุ์ อาหารของแรดได้แก่ ยอดไม้ ใบไม้ กิ่งไม้ และผลไม้ที่ร่วงหล่นบนพื้นดิน แรดไม่มีฤดูผสมพันธุ์ที่แน่นอน จึงสามารถผสมพันธุ์ได้ตลอดปี ตกลูกครั้งละ ๑ ตัว ตั้งท่องนานประมาณ ๑๖ เดือน

ที่อยู่อาศัย: แรดอาศัยอยู่เฉพาะในบริเวณป่าดิบชื้นที่มีความอุดมสมบูรณ์ หรือตามป่าทึบริมฝั่งทะเล ส่วนใหญ่จะหากินอยู่ตามพื้นที่ราบ ไม่ค่อยขึ้นบนภูเขาสูง
