การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา และเปรียบเทียบความระดับความพึงพอใจของประชาชนในเขตองค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลท่าสองคอนและข้อเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการพัฒนาการดำเนินงานตามอำนาจหน้าที่ขององค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลท่าสองคอนอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดมหาสารคามกลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ ประชาชนในชุมชนที่มาใช้บริการองค์การบริหาร
ส่วนตำบลท่าสองคอน อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดมหาสารคาม จำนวน 329 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการศึกษาเป็นแบบสอบถามมีค่าความเชื่อมั่น 0.891โดยนำข้อมูลที่ได้มาวิเคราะห์เพื่อคำนวณหาค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียวOne-way Analysis

ข้อเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการพัฒนาการดำเนินงานตามอำนาจหน้าที่ขององค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลท่าสองคอนอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดมหาสารคาม แยกเป็นแต่ละด้าน ดังนี้ ด้านการบำรุงรักษาทางน้ำ และทางบกควรมีการสนับสนุนงบประมาณในการขุดสระ แหล่งน้ำเพิ่มขึ้นด้านรักษาความสะอาดของถนนทางน้ำทางเดิน และที่สาธารณะ รวมทั้งกำจัดมูลฝอยและสิ่งปฏิกูลควรมีการควบคุมการถมดินและการทำร่องระบายน้ำให้ได้มาตรฐานด้านการป้องกันโรคและระงับโรคติดต่อจัดให้มีการอบรมให้ความรู้แก่ประชาชนในการป้องกันโรคติดต่อและโรคภัยต่างๆด้านการส่งเสริมการศึกษา ศาสนา และวัฒนธรรมควรจัดสรรงบประมาณเพื่อการเป็นทุนการศึกษาแก่เยาวชน และประชาชนในเขตองค์การบริหารส่วนตำบล ที่เรียนดีแต่ยากจนโดยสนับสนุนอย่างต่อเนื่องจนถึงระดับปริญญาตรี ด้านการส่งเสริมการพัฒนา สตรีเด็ก เยาวชน ผู้สูงอายุ และผู้พิการ ควรให้ความสำคัญกับสตรี เด็ก เยาวชน ผู้สูงอายุและผู้พิการ โดยการสนับสนุน ส่งเสริมให้มีการศึกษา การประกอบอาชีพ และสวัสดิการต่างๆด้านคุ้มครอง ดูแล และบำรุงรักษาทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม ควรให้ประชาชนได้มีส่วนร่วมในการดูแล รักษาทรัพยากรธรรมชาติที่มีอยู่ในชุมชนด้านบำรุงรักษาศิลปะจารีตประเพณีภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่นและวัฒนธรรมอันดีของท้องถิ่นควรสนับสนุนงบประมาณให้ชุมชนในการอนุรักษ์ประเพณีอันดีงามไว้
