อุทยานแห่งชาติดอยฟ้าห่มปก เดิมชื่อ อุทยานแห่งชาติดอยผ้าห่มปก ก่อนจะเปลี่ยนชื่อแบบในปัจจุบัน มีพื้นที่ทั้งหมดประมาณ 524 ตารางกิโลเมตร ภูมิประเทศเป็นภูเขาสลับซับซ้อนของทิวเขาผีปันน้ำ มีความสูงตั้งแต่ 400-2,285 เมตร จากระดับน้ำทะเล มีดอยสำคัญได้แก่ ดอยฟ้าห่มปก ดอยปู่หมื่น ดอยแหลม และดอยอ่างขาง สภาพป่าส่วนใหญ่ยังสมบูรณ์อยู่มาก รวมทั้งมีพันธุ์ไม้ที่หายากของไทย เช่น เทียนหาง กุหลาบพันปี เป็นต้น
