มีเมืองแห่งหนึ่งเป็นเมืองประหลาด มีสระน้ำที่โยนของสิ่งใดลงไปก็จมไม่ว่าจะเป็นเศษไม้ ใบไม้หรือกระดาษ ก็จะจมลงไปในสระ เหตุเพราะมีมังกรอาศัยอยู่ใต้สระที่คอยกินสิ่งของทุกอย่างที่ตกลงไปแม้แต่เรือก็ยังถูกมังกรกลืนกินเข้าไป แม้แต่ผู้คนที่เข้าไปใกล้บริเวณสระน้ำก้จะถูกมังกรทำร้าย เจ้าเมืองจึงได้ประกาศหาผู้กล้า มาปราบมังกร ถ้ามีใครปราบมังกรได้ จะยกสมบัติของเจ้าเมืองให้ครึ่งหนึ่ง มีผู้กล้ามากมายอาสามาปราบมังกรแต่ก็ถูกมังกรทำร้ายบาดเจ็บกลับไปทุกคน จนเมื่อมีเจ้าชายจากต่างเมืองอาสาจะมาปราบมังกรให้เจ้าชายเมื่อไปถึงสระก็ลองปล่อยเรือลอยไปกลางสระ แต่กลับถูกมังกรกลืนเรือหายไปทั้งลำ เจ้าชายจึงออกอุบายใช้น้ำมันเทลงไปในสระ แล้วจุดไฟในสระ มังกรเมื่อเห็นเช่นนั้นก็โกรธเป็นอย่างมาก จึงขึ้นมาจากสระน้ำ แล้วจึงพ่นน้ำดับไฟ เมื่อไฟดับลงมังกรจึงหันมาทำร้ายเจ้าชายทันที เจ้าชายก็ต่อสู้กับมังกร จนบาดเจ็บทั้งสองราย
เจ้าชายเมื่อเห็นมังกรเริ่มอ่อนแรง จึงถามเจ้ามังกรว่า เหตุใดเจ้าจึงทำร้ายชาวบ้านเช่นนี้ มังกรเมื่อถูกถามเช่นนั้นก็ไม่ยอมตอบ จ้องแต่จะทำร้ายเจ้าชายอย่างเดียว เจ้าชายจึงถามไปอีกว่าเจ้าเป็นถึงเทพเหตุใดเจ้าจึงทำร้ายประชาชนเช่นนี้ มังกรด้วยความอัดอั้นตันใจจึงบอกไปว่า ประชาชนนั่นแหละ ที่ทำร้ายข้าก่อน!!!!! ประชาชนชอบทิ้งขยะในที่ๆข้าอาศัยอยู่ปล่อยน้ำเสียลงสระน้ำทำให้ เหล่าบรรดาสัตว์น้ำเดือดร้อน ข้าจึงต้องออกมาทำร้ายผู้คนเพื่อให้พวกคนได้รับรู้ถึงความเดือดร้อนของพวกข้า เมื่อเจ้าชายได้ยินเช่นนั้น จึงขอทำสัญญาสงบศึกกับมังกรและชาวบ้าน โดยตามเจ้าเมือง และชาวบ้านทุกๆมาที่สระน้ำแห่งนี้ เพื่อทำการตกลงกับมังกร ว่าจะไม่ทำให้สระน้ำที่เป็นที่อยู่ของมังกรและเหล่าบรรดาสัตว์น้ำสกปรกอีก ส่วนทางด้ายมังกรก็ต้องไม่ทำร้ายชาวบ้านอีก มังกรเมื่อเห็นเช่นนั้นก็ตอบตกลง ถ้าชาวบ้านไม่ทำให้สระสกปรกมังกรก็จะช่วยดูแลชาวบ้านให้อยู่กันอย่างสงบสุขเมื่อทั้งสองฝ่ายตกลงกันได้ เจ้าชายจึงขอตัวกลับเมืองของตน และไม่ยอมรับสมบัติที่เจ้าเมืองเสนอให้ และยังบอกว่าให้นำสมบัติทั้งหมดนี้ไปดูแลสระของท่านให้สะอาดเหมือนเดิมเถิด
หลังจากนั้นมังกรก็กลับไปยังสระที่อาศัยอยู่ และชาวบ้านก็กลับไปใช้ชีวิตเป็นปกติเหมือนเดิม และเจ้าชายก็กลับเมืองไป จบแระนะ
