- หลักฐานก่อนประวัติศาสตร์ ในพื้นที่อุทยานแห่งชาติออบหลวงได้ค้นพบหลักฐานทางโบราณคดีตั้งแต่สมัยสังคมนายพรานระยะหลังหรือสมัยหินกลางแต่เดิม ลงมาจนถึงประวัติศาสตร์ (สายันต์ ไพรชาญจิต และคณะ2528) โดยการสำรวจของกองโบราณคดี กรมศิลปากร กระทรวงศึกษาธิการ ตามโครงการโบราณคดีก่อนประวัติศาสตร์ไทย–ฝรั่งเศส ซึ่งเป็นโครงการศึกษาวิจัยในความร่วมมือระหว่างนักวิจัยสาขาโบราณคดีแห่งศูนย์วิจัยทางวิทยาศาสตร์ ประเทศฝรั่งเศส หลักฐานสำคัญที่สุดที่พบในการขุดค้นคือ หลุมฝังศพและโครงกระดูกของมนุษย์ในสังคมเกษตรกรรม สมัยสำริด โดยพบในบริเวณ
