ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ.2558 ประเทศไทยในฐานะเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของอาเซียนจะก้าวสู่ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน เราควรเตรียมความพร้อมโดยใช้การสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อก้าวสู่ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียนอย่างไรบ้าง ในแนวความคิดของข้าพเจ้า เนื่องจากอาเซียนประกอบไปด้วยสมาชิกจำนวน 10 ประเทศ ประเทศไทยจึงจำเป็นต้องสร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับประเทศเพื่อบ้านในอาเซียน เนื่องจากแต่ละประเทศในอาเซียนมีความแตกต่างกันในหลาย ๆ ด้าน เช่น ภาษา ศาสนา วัฒนธรรม จึงต้องมีการศึกษาเพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจ จะทำให้เกิดความเข้าใจในความแตกต่างทางวัฒนธรรมและสามารถสร้างลักษณะร่วมทางวัฒนธรรมที่มีความคล้ายคลึงกันได้ โดยวิธีการ คือ
