แสดงลักษณะทางสัณฐานวิทยาของเมล็ดข้าวสังข์หยดในพื้นที่แตกต่างกัน กัน โดยศึกษาใน 2 จังหวัด 5 พื้นที่ ได้แก่ จังหวัดพัทลุง ในอำเภอควนขนุน อำเภอป่าพะยอม และอำเภอเขาชัยสน จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช ในตำบลบางสะพานและศูนย์วิจัยข้าวนครศรีธรรมราช โดยศึกษาลักษณะทางสัณฐานวิทยาทั้งหมด 4 องค์ประกอบ คือ หาขนาดของเมล็ด รูปร่างของเมล็ด น้ำหนักของเมล็ด เปอร์เซ็นต์การกะเทาะ พบว่า ข้าวสังข์หยดที่มีค่าสัดส่วนความยาวต่อความกว้างเฉลี่ยสูงสุด คือ ข้าวสังข์หยดในพื้นที่ปลูกศูนย์วิจัยข้าวนครศรีธรรมราช รองลงมา คือ ข้าวสังข์หยดในพื้นที่ปลูกอำเภอควนขนุน จังหวัดพัทลุง, ข้าวสังข์หยดในพื้นที่ปลูกตำบลบางสะพาน อำเภอเมืองนครศรีธรรมราช, ข้าวสังข์หยดในพื้นที่ปลูกอำเภอควนขนุน จังหวัดพัทลุง และข้าวสังข์หยดในพื้นที่ปลูกอำเภอป่าพะยอม จังหวัดพัทลุง โดยมีค่าเฉลี่ยสัดส่วนความยาวต่อความกว้าง คือ 3.73±0.11, 3.470.11, 3.410.03, 3.360.09 และ 3.310.21 ตามลำดับ ซึ่งข้าวสังข์หยดทั้ง 5 พื้นที่ จัดอยู่ในกลุ่มรูปร่างเรียว เมื่อชั่งน้ำหนักข้าวเปลือกต่อ 100 เมล็ด พบว่า ข้าวสังข์หยดในพื้นที่ปลูก อ.เขาชัยสน จังหวัดพัทลุงมีค่าเฉลี่ยของน้ำหนักต่อ 100 เมล็ดสูงสุด รองลงมา คือ ข้าวสังข์หยดในพื้นที่ปลูกศูนย์วิจัยข้าวนครศรีธรรมราช, ข้าวสังข์หยดในพื้นที่ปลูกอำเภอป่าพะยอม จังหวัดพัทลุง, ข้าวสังข์หยดในพื้นที่ปลูกอำเภอควนขนุน จังหวัดพัทลุง และข้าวสังข์หยดในพื้นที่ปลูกตำบลบางสะพาน อำเภอเมือง
