จากการสัมภาษณ์นักศึกษากลุ่มตัวอย่างทั้งหมดจำนวน20คน พบว่านักศึกษา90%ให้ความคิดเห็นว่าปัญหาและอุปสรรคในการพูดภาษาอังกฤษคือความกลัวและความกังวลเป็นปัญหาใหญ่ เนื่องจากนักศึกษากลัวว่าคู่สนทนาจะไม่สามารถเข้าใจในสิ่งที่ตนเองพูด,กลัวว่าตนเองจะพูดผิด,กลัวจะใช้ไวยากรณ์ผิดจึงทำให้นักศึกษาไม่กล้าพูดภาษาอังกฤษ,ไม่กล้าแสดงออกเมื่อต้องออกมาพูดหน้าชั้นเรียน อีกทั้งนักศึกษาเหล่านี้ยังให้ความเห็นว่าการไม่รู้คำศัพท์เป็นหนึ่งในอุปสรรคในการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษ เพราะเมื่อต้องพูดภาษาอังกฤษนักศึกษาจะต้องนึกเป็นภาษาไทยก่อนทุกครั้ง บางครั้งก็ไม่สามารถนึกศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษได้เลยเนื่องจากความรู้ด้านคำศัพท์ไม่เพียงพอ ขณะเดียวกันนักศึกษาอีก10% ให้ความคิดเห็นว่าปัญหาหลักคือการเลือกใช้คำศัพท์เนื่องจากนักศึกษาไม่รู้ว่าจะเลือกใช้คำศัพท์คำไหนให้เหมาะสมกับสถานการณ์
