TME ย่อมาจาก Tool And Materials Engineering สามารถแยกได้เป็นสองสาขาคือวิศวกรรมเครื่องมือและวิศวกรรมวัสดุ เมื่อไม่นานมานี้ภาควิชาเราได้เปิดสาขาใหม่หลักสูตรระดับปริญญาตรีคือ Automotive Part Manufacturing Engineering ภาควิชาได้เริ่มเปิดสอนหลักสูตรระดับปริญญาตรีในปีการศึกษา 2536 ซึ่งเป็นระยะเวลามา 24 ปีแล้ว ภาควิชารับผิดชอบการจัดการเรียนการสอน การวิจัยและพัฒนา และการบริการวิชาการแก่สังคมทางด้านเทคโนโลยีการขึ้นรูปโลหะ พอลิเมอร์ เซรามิกส์และแก้ว และวัสดุผสม เทคโนโลยีการผลิตชิ้นงาน โดยใช้กรรมวิธีการปาดผิว การตัด การอบชุบ การชุบเคลือบผิว และการใช้วัสดุวิศวกรรมเพื่อเพิ่มคุณภาพแก่ผลิตภัณฑ์และลดต้นทุนการผลิต
