Two main agent operations are realized from the responses
given by our participants. Firstly, most of the participants
wished for more autonomous behavior from the drone to the
extent that the drone could actually not only detect waste but
also categorize the rubbish and consequently direct the user
towards the correct recycle bin. One of the participants stated
that: “the technology [sic] could be improved if a drone were
able to collect the identified rubbish and dispose of it on its
own”. Prior research [6] indicates that most humans find recycling
and trash disposal confusing and a burden. It should
be noted that autonomous trash disposal would not actually
bring about habitual change in user practices - which was one
of the goals of our proposed concept.
