การวิจัยครั้งนี้ผู้วิจัยเลือกใช้โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ SIDRA Intersection 5.1 ประกอบการวิเคราะห์ออกแบบสัญญาณไฟจราจร เพื่อหาจังหวะสัญญาณไฟที่เหมาะสมสำหรับทางแยกหน้ามหาวิยาลัยทักษิณ จากการวิเคราะห์ได้แก่ ค่าระดับการให้บริการ (Level of Service: LOS), ความล่าช้า (Delay), ความยาวแถวคอย (Queue), ความจุ (Capacity), และระดับความอิ่มตัว (Degree of Saturation) เป็นตัวชี้วัดประสิทธิภาพ ในการวิเคราะห์ออกแบบสัญญาณไฟจราจร พบว่าผลการวิเคราะห์รูปแบบจังหวะสัญญาณไฟแบบ Early Cut-off เหมาะสมสำหรับทางแยกหน้ามหาวิยาลัยทักษิณ
