วีรกรรมอันกล้าหาญของท้าวเทพกระษัตรี ท้าวศรีสุนทรในครั้งนั้น เป็นเหตุการณ์ที่ตรึง  อยู่ในความทรงจำของชาวภูเก็ตเป็นอย่างยิ่ง  ดังนั้นต่อมาในสมัยที่นายอ้วน   สุรกุล เป็นผู้ว่า ราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต จึงมีนโยบายว่าจะสร้างอนุสาวรีย์วีรสตรีทั้งสองท่านขึ้น อนุสาวรีย์ออกแบบ โดยสนั่น  ศิลากร ปฏิมากร กองหัตถศิลป์ กรมศิลปากร เมื่อปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๐๙ กระทำพิธียก อนุสาวรีย์ขึ้นประดิษฐานบนฐาน ณ สี่แยกบ้านท่าเรือ เมื่อวันที่ ๒๔ มีนาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๑๐

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวได้เสด็จพระราชดำเนินมาเปิดอนุสาวรีย์ เมื่อวันที่ ๒๓ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๑๐ ที่ฐานมีจารึกดังนี้  “ท้าวเทพกระษัตรี (จัน) ท้าวศรีสุนทร (มุก) ได้กระทำ การป้องกันรักษาเมืองไว้เป็นสามารถ มิให้ข้าศึกยกมาประชิดเมืองถลาง เมื่อ พ.ศ. ๒๓๒๘ ตีหัก เอาเมืองได้  พม่าแตกทัพกลับไปเมื่อ ๒ ฯ มะเส็ง สัปตศก จ.ศ. ๑๑๔๗ เป็นวีรกรรมอันควร แก่ชาวเมืองถลาง ตลอดจนชาวไทยทั่วไปยกย่องสรรเสริญ    ชาวเมืองถลางโดยการนำของนายอ้วน  สุรกุล ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต  ช่วยกันสร้างไว้เมื่อ ๕ฯ ๖ มะเมีย อัฐศก จ.ศ. ๑๓๒๘ ๒๘  เมษายน พ.ศ.๒๕๐๙ เวลา ๙.๐๐ น. ขอให้ดวงวิญญาณของวีรสตรี  ทั้งสองจงสถิตเป็นมิ่งขวัญปกป้อง ชาวถลางสืบไป”
