ปัจจุบันนี้ระบบการศึกษาของไทยมีการแบ่งระดับทางการศึกษาออกเป็น 4 ระดับ คือ ระดับปฐมวัย,ประถมศึกษา,มัธยมศึกษา และอุดมศึกษา ภาครัฐจะเข้ามาดูแลโดยตรง โดยมีกฎหมายให้ประชาชนทุกคนต้องจบการศึกษาภาคบังคับ(มัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น) และสามารถเรียนได้จนจบการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐานโดยไม่เสียค่าใช้จ่าย
เมื่อจบการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐานแล้ว เราก็ควรที่จะศึกษาต่อในระดับที่สูงขึ้น คือ "ระดับอุดมศึกษา" เพื่อเป็นการต่อยอดความรู้ของเราให้สูงขึ้น แต่ในระดับอุดมศึกษาไม่ได้จัดอยู่ในการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน ที่อยู่ในความดูแลของภาครัฐ ทำให้ค่าใช้จ่ายที่เคยฟรีต้องมีการเสียค่าใช้จ่าย ทั้งนี้ก็ขึ้นอยู่กับสถานศึกษาที่เราศึกษาอยู่นั้นเป็นของรัฐบาลหรือเอกชน หากเป็นของรัฐบาล ก็อาจจะเสียน้อยกว่า ดังนั้นฉันจึงคิดว่า ระดับอุดมศึกษาก็ควรจะฟรีเช่นกัน เพราะจะเป็นผลดีให้กับคนที่อยากศึกษาต่อแต่ไม่มีกำลังการจ่าย และการศึกษาก็เป็นส่วนสำคัญในการพัฒนาประเทศให้เจริญรุ่งเรือง
