จากผลการศึกษานี้ สรุปได้ว่าวิธีฟีเนตมีความเหมาะสมสำหรับการหาแอมโมเนีย-ไนโตรเจนในน้ำทะเลมากกว่าวิธีไทเทรตสำหรับห้องปฏิบัติการของบริษัทฯ อาจเนื่องจากวิธีไทเทรตของห้องปฏิบัติการบริษัทฯ มีขีดจำกัด (Limit of detection) ในการตรวจวัด 1,000 ไมโครกรัมต่อลิตร ส่งผลให้ไม่สามารถตรวจพบปริมาณแอมโมเนีย-ไนโตรเจนในน้ำตัวอย่างได้ ในทางกลับกันแอมโมเนีย-ไนโตรเจนสามารถตรวจพบได้ด้วยวิธีฟีเนต ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับค่ามาตรฐานคุณภาพน้ำทะเลที่กำหนดไว้ในประกาศคณะกรรมการสิ่งแวดล้อมแหงชาติ ฉบับที่ ๒๗ (พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๙) โดยกำหนดให้มีค่าปริมาณแอมโมเนีย-ไนโตรเจนในน้ำทะเลไม่เกิน 70 ไมโครกรัมต่อลิตร (กระทรวงทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม, 2549)
