ผลการวิจัยครั้งนี้มีข้อเสนอแนะสำหรับการนำไปใช้ประโยชน์ กล่าวคือ สภาพเศรษฐกิจแบบทุนนิยมส่งผลให้การพัฒนาพื้นที่ต่าง ๆ เกิดความเหลื่อมล้ำด้านรายได้และโอกาสการเข้าถึงบริการภาครัฐที่ไม่เป็นธรรม ซึ่งนำไปสู่ความขัดแย้งในสังคมและเป็นอุปสรรคต่อการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและความมั่นคงทางสังคมของประเทศ พื้นที่ดังกล่าวเป็นบริเวณที่มีความสุ่มเสี่ยงต่อการถูกคุกคามสิทธิและเสรีภาพและการเกิดอาชญากรรม การป้องกันอาชญากรรมจึงควรมุ่งให้ความใส่ใจกับพื้นที่เหล่านี้ ซึ่งทำได้โดยการกำหนดนโยบายให้บริเวณนี้เป็น “พื้นที่แห่งการป้องกันตนเอง” (Defensible space) อาทิ การติดตั้งกล้องวงจรปิดเพื่อช่วยสอดส่องอาชญากรรม การเพิ่มไฟส่องสว่างให้ทั่วถึง และการรณรงค์ให้ประชาชนหลีกเลี่ยงการทำกิจกรรมในพื้นที่เสี่ยงเป็นเวลานาน เป็นต้น
