ประเพณีชักพระ

ประเพณีชักพระหรือลากพระเป็นประเพณีที่พราหมณ์ศาสตร์สนิกชนและพุทธศาสนิกชนปฏิบัติสืบต่อกันมาตั้งแต่ครั้งโบราณ สันนิฐานว่าประเพณีนี้เกิดขึ้นครั้งแรก ในประเทศอินเดียตามลัทธิศาสนาพราหมณ์ ที่นิยมนำเอาเทวารูปออกแห่แหนในโอกาสต่าง ๆ เช่น การแห่เทวารูปพระอิศวร เทวารูปพระนารายณ์ เป็นต้น
