การจัดทำโครงงานในครั้งนี้มีจุดประสง

การจัดทำโครงงานในครั้งนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เพื่อเก็บรวบรวมชนิดของตั๊กแตนที่พบในบริเวณบ้านดอนเชียงยืน ตำบลโพนสูง อำเภอสว่างแดนดิน จังหวัดสกลนคร 2) เพื่อศึกษาชนิดของตั๊กแตนในป่าไม้ สวนอ้อย สวนมันสำประหลัง นาข้าว และสวนยางพารา ในเขตบ้านดอนเชียงยืน ตำบลโพนสูง อำเภอสว่างแดนดิน จังหวัดสกลนคร โดยใช้วิธีการสำรวจและเก็บตัวอย่างของตั๊กแตน ซึ่งได้ทำการสุ่ม (Random Sampling) ขนาด 100 x 100 เมตร คือวางแปลงตัวอย่างขนาดใหญ่เพียงแปลงเดียวที่คิดว่าเป็นตัวแทนที่ดีของสังคม จากนั้นนำกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่เก็บได้มาสตัฟไว้เพื่อใช้เป็นสื่อการเรียน
ผลการทำโครงงาน พบว่า 1) ตั๊กแตน ในบริเวณบ้านดอนเชียงยืน ตำบลโพนสูง อำเภอสว่างแดนดิน จังหวัดสกลนคร พบตั๊กแตนจำนวน 8 ชนิด 2 อันดับ 4 วงศ์ โดยตั๊กแตนที่มีจำนวนชนิดมากที่สุดอยู่ในอันดับ Orthoptera ซึ่งพบ 7 ชนิด ดังนี้ จากวงศ์ Acridiae พบ 4 ชนิด ได้แก่ ตั๊กแตนเขียวใหญ่ ตั๊กแตนขาแดง ตั๊กแตนไฮโรไกรฟัส และตั๊กแตนฝ้าย วงศ์ Tettigoniidae พบ 2 ชนิด ได้แก่ ตั๊กแตนหนวดยาว และ แมงมันข้าว วงศ์ Mantodae พบ 1 ชนิด คือ ตั๊กแตนตำข้าว และวงศ์ Phamatidae พบ 1 ชนิด คือ ตั๊กแตนกิ่งไม้ 2) ตั๊กแตนที่สำรวจได้ทั้งหมด มี 527 ตัว สามารถแยกจำนวนตัวตั๊กแตนที่สำรวจได้ทั้งหมดจากมากไปน้อยตามอันดับ ดังนี้ Orthoptera และ Phasmida คิดเป็นร้อยละ 99.25 และ 0.75 ของชนิดตั๊กแตนทั้งหมดที่จับได้และสามารถแยกจำนวนตัวของตั๊กแตนสำรวจได้ทั้งหมดจากมากไปน้อยตามวงศ์ ดังนี้ Acridiae Tettigoniidae Mantodae และ Phamatidae คิดเป็นร้อยละ 63.95, 33.97, 1.33 และ 0.75 ของแมลงที่จับได้ทั้งหมดตามลำดับ 3) จำนวนชนิดของตั๊กแตนในแต่ละพื้นที่การเกษตร สามารถเรียงลำดับจำนวนชนิดของตั๊กแตนในแต่ละพื้นที่จากมากไปน้อย ดังนี้ ป่าไม้ พบตั๊กแตน 8 ชนิด ได้แก่ ป่าไม้, สวนอ้อย, นาข้าว, สวนยางพารา และสวนมันสำประหลัง พบ 8, 5, 4, 2 และ 2 ตามลำดับ และคิดเป็นร้อยละ 40.00, 25.00, 15.00, 10.00 และ 10.00 ของจำนวนชนิดตั๊กแตนที่สำรวจได้ตามลำดับ
