            ที่ผ่านมา รัฐบาลบรูไนมีแผนส่งเสริมการเพาะปลูกข้าวพันธุ์ท้องถิ่นตามนโยบายเสริมสร้างความมั่นคงทางอาหาร  และให้การสนับสนุนการเพิ่มช่องทางการจัดจำหน่ายข้าวพันธุ์ท้องถิ่นภายในประเทศ โดยเฉพาะข้าวพันธุ์ Laila พันธุ์ Adan และพันธุ์ Bairo

            เมื่อเร็วๆ นี้ กรมการเกษตรและอาหาร กระทรวงอุตสาหกรรมและทรัพยากรธรรมชาติบรูไนได้ลงนามในความตกลงร่วมกับบริษัทเอกชนท้องถิ่นหลายแห่ง เพื่อแต่งตั้งให้เป็นตัวแทนจำหน่ายข้าวพันธุ์ท้องถิ่นในห้างสรรพสินค้า ซูเปอร์มาเก็ต และร้านค้าปลีกภายในประเทศ เพื่อให้ถึงมือผู้บริโภคได้ง่ายขึ้น

            บริษัทเอกชนที่เป็นตัวแทนจำหน่ายข้าวพันธุ์ท้องถิ่นภายในประเทศบรูไน ได้แก่ บริษัท First Emporium Group บริษัท Guanin Company บริษัท Soon Lee Megamart บริษัท Hau Ho Department Store บริษัท Gaint TMC (B) Sdn.BHd. และบริษัท Nadi Utama Minimart 

            บริษัทตัวแทนจำหน่ายเหล่านี้จะจัดจำหน่ายข้าวผ่านซูเปอร์มาเก็ตในเครือ ซึ่งบางบริษัทเป็นเจ้าของซูเปอร์มาเก็ตและห้างสรรพสินค้าใหญ่ของบรูไน และบางบริษัทจะจัดจำหน่ายแก่ร้านค้าปลีกทั่วประเทศ
