จากผลการทดลอง โดยใช้ reflux ratio = 1 เมื่อเก็บ sample แล้วนำไปคำนวณจำนวน Theoretical tray ได้ 11 ชั้น – 1 reboiler สำหรับ refulx ratio = 2 คำนวณได้ 7 ชั้น – 1 reboiler ซึ่งเป็นไปตามทฤษฎีเมื่อเพิ่ม reflux ratio จะทำให้จำนวนชั้นน้อยลง จากนั้นนำจำนวนชั้นไปคำนวณ efficiency สำหรับ reflux ratio =1 และ reflux ratio =4 จะได้ 66.67% และ 40% ตามลำดับ แต่จาก sample พบว่า reflux ratio =1 ความเข้มข้นของส่วน distillate มีค่าน้อยกว่า reflux ratio =1 ซึ่งอาจจะมีผลมาจากอุณหภูมิของหอกลั่นยังไม่คงที่ และระบบในหอกลั่นยังไม่เข้าสู่สมดุลหลังจากเปลี่ยน reflux ratio จาก 1 เป็น 4
