อธิบาย บารมี 30 ทัศ
การบำเพ็ญบารมีของพระโพธิสัตว์ในชาตินั้นๆ บารมีที่บำเพ็ญนั้นคือ ทานบารมี เนกขัมมบารมี ปัญญาบารมี วิริยบารมี ขันติบารมี สัจจบารมี อธิษฐานบารมี เมตตาบารมี และอุเบกขาบารมี รวมเรียกว่าบารมี ๓๐ (๓ x ๑๐) โดยแบ่งเป็นบารมีชั้นธรรมดา ๑๐ (บารมี) บารมี ชั้นกลาง ๑๐ (อุปบารมี) และ บารมีชั้นสูง ๑๐ (ปรมัตถบารมี) รวมเป็นบารมี ๓๐ ประการ
ในอรรถกถาจริยาปิฎกพระไตรปิฎก เล่มที่ ๓๓ ได้จัดชาดกเรื่องต่างๆ ลงในบารมีทั้ง ๓๐ ประการ มีนัยโดยสังเขปที่น่าศึกษา ดังนี้
๑. ทานบารมี พระโพธิสัตว์ทรงบำเพ็ยทานบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพระเจ้าสีวิราช (๒๗/๔๙๙) ทรงบำเพ็ญทานอุปบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพระเวสสันดร (๒๘/๕๔๗) และทรงบำเพ็ญทานปรมัตถบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นกระต่ายป่าสสบัณฑิต (๒๗/๓๑๖)
๒. ศีลบารมี พระโพธิสัตว์ทรงบำเพ็ญศีลบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพญาช้างฉัตทันต์เลี้ยงมารดา (๒๗/๗๒) ทรงบำเพ็ญศีลอุปบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพญานาคภูริทัต (๒๘/๕๔๓)
๓. เนกขัมมบารมี พระโพธิสัตว์ทรงบำเพ็ญเนกขัมมบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นอโยฆรราชกุมาร (๒๗/๕๑๐) ทรงบำเพ็ญเนกขัมมอุปบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นหัตถิปาลกุมาร (๒๗/๕๐๙) และทรงบำเพ็ญเนกขัมมปรมัตถบารมี ในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพระเจ้าจูฬสุตโสม (๒๗/๕๒๗)
๔. ปัญญาบารมี พระโพธิสัตว์ทรงบำเพ็ญปัญญาบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นสัมภวกุมาร (๒๗/๕๑๕) ทรงบำเพ็ญปัญญาอุปบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นอำมาตย์วิธุรบัญฑิต (๒๘/๕๔๖) และทรงบำเพ็ญปัญญาปรมัตถบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นเสนกบัณฑิต (๒๗/๔๐๒)
๕. วิริยบารมี พระโพธิสัตว์ทรงบำเพ็ญวิริยบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพญากปิ (๒๗/๕๑๖) ทรงบำเพ็ญวิริยอุปบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพระเจ้าสีลวมหาราช (๒๗/๕๑) และทรงบำเพ็ญวิริยปรมัตถบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพระมหาชนก (๒๘/๕๓๙)
๖. ขันติบารมี พระโพธิสัตว์ทรงบำเพ็ญขันติบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นจูฬธัมมปาลราชกุมาร (๒๗/๓๕๘) ทรงบำเพ็ญขันติอุปบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นธัมมิกเทพบุตร (๒๗/๔๕๗) และทรงบำเพ็ญขันติปรมัตถบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นขันติวาทีดาบส (๒๗/๓๑๓)
๗. สัจจบารมี พระโพธิสัตว์ทรงบำเพ็ญสัจจบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นวัฏฏกะ (ลูกนกคุ่ม (๒๗/๓๕) ทรงบำเพ็ญสัจจอุปบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพญาปลาช่อน (๒๗/๗๕) และทรงบำเพ็ญสัจจปรมัตถบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพระเจ้ามหาสุตโสม (๒๘/๕๓๗)
๘. อธิษฐานบารมี พระโพธิสัตว์ทรงบำเพ็ญอธิษฐานบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพญากุกกุระ (๒๗/๒๒) ทรงบำเพ็ญอธิษฐานอุปบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นมาตังคบัณฑิต (๒๗/๔๙๗) และทรงบำเพ็ญอธิษฐานปรมัตถบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพระเตมิยราชกุมาร (๒๘/๕๓๘)
๙. เมตตาบารมี พระโพธิสัตว์ทรงบำเพ็ญเมตตาบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นสุวรรณสามดาบส (๒๘/๕๔๐) ทรงบำเพ็ญเมตตาอุปบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นกัณหาทีปายนดาบส (๒๗/๔๔๔) และทรงบำเพ็ญเมตตาปรมัตถบารมีในขณะที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพระเจ้าเอกราช
