ทำการศึกษาการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศโดยการมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชน บริเวณหน่วยพิทักษ์อุทยานแห่งชาติทุ่งแสลงหลวง ที่ ส.ล.8 (หนองแม่นา) พบว่า ชาวบ้านมีศักยภาพ และมีความพร้อมที่จะสามารถจัดการท่องเที่ยวในท้องถิ่นได้อย่างดี ปัญหาสำคัญสำคัญที่พบคือชาวบ้านยังมีจำกัดในเรื่องการตลาดและการประชาสัมพันธ์ ซึ่งสมควรจะได้มีการพัฒนาส่งเสริมจากหน่วยงาน การศึกษาวิจัยนี้เป็นทางเลือกหนึ่งที่จะช่วยแก้ไขปัญหาความขัดแย้ง และจะเป็นแนวทางที่จะให้ชุมชนได้เรียนรู้การใช้ประโยชน์และจัดการทรัพยากรอย่างยั่งยืนได้
