จากหลักฐานทางโบราณคดีนี้เองทำชื่อเสียงของเวียงกาหลงได้ตื่นจากการหลับใหล และรอการค้นหาปริศนา ความรุ่งเรื่องของกลุ่มชนที่สร้างเมืองโบราณแห่งนี้ หลักฐานชิ้นสำคัญคือ “ เตาเผาเวียงกาหลง” ซึ่งเป็นกุญแจสำคัญในการค้นหาประวัติศาสตร์อันยาวนาน
