การศึกษาสามัญ12ปีมีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะให้ประช่ชนได้มีจิตวิญญาณในความเป็นสังคมนิยม มีเอกลักษณ์ประจำชาติและมีความสามารถในด้านอาชีพระบบการจัดการศึกษาของเวียดนามมีดังนี้
1.การศึกษาก่อนประถมศึกษาประกอบด้วยการเลี้ยงดูเด็กสำหรับเด็กอายุ6เดือนถึง3ปี และอนุบาลสำหรับเด็กอายุ3-5ปี
2.การศึกษาสามัญ(5:4:3)
ระดับประถมศึกษาเป็นการศึกษาภาคบังคับ5ปีชั้น1-5
ระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นคือชั้ล6-9
ระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายคือชั้น10-12
