การศึกษา
เริ่มการศึกษาที่โรงเรียนวัดบพิตรพิมุข พระตำหนักสวนกุหลาบ และโรงเรียนสุนันทาลัย แล้วเข้าศึกษาต่อ ณ โรงเรียนฝึกหัดอาจารย์ระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2435 - 2437 ได้รับประกาศนียบัตรครู และสอบไล่ได้เป็นที่ 1 ของผู้สำเร็จวิชาครูชุดแรกและทำหน้าที่สอนประมาณ 2 ปี

• พ.ศ. 2439 เมื่อวันที่ ๔ พฤษภาคม จึงได้เป็นนักเรียนทุนหลวงกระทรวงธรรมการไปศึกษาวิชาครูต่อที่ประเทศอังกฤษ ณ วิทยาลัยฝึกหัดครูเบอโรโรด (Borough Road College) ณ เมืองไอส์ลเวิซท์ (Isleworth) ทางใต้ของกรุงลอนดอน ภายใต้การดูแลของเซอร์ โรเบิร์ต มอแรน จบแล้วได้เดินทางไปดูงานด้านการศึกษาที่ประเทศอินเดียและพม่าเป็นเวลา 3 เดือน
