4)Novel คือกฎหมายที่ตราขึ้นภายหลังที่มีประมวลกฎหมายโรมันแล้วเป็นการแก้ไขส่วนที่เรียกว่า codexให้สมบูรณ์ยิ่งขึ้นจึงส่งผลให้พัฒนามาเป็นประมวลกฎหมายต่างๆในปัจจุบัน
จากที่ได้ศึกษามาประมวลกฎหมายจัสติเนียนนั้นทำให้รู้ถึงประวัติความเป็นมารวมถึงความสำคัญของประมวลกฎหมายจัสติเนียนซึ่งมีอิทธิพลเป็นอย่างมากต่อวงการกฎหมายเพราะเป็นประมวลกฎหมายที่เป็นต้นแบบและพัฒนามาเป็นประมวลกฎหมายต่างๆและรวมถึงการบัญญัติกฎหมายในระบบกฎหมายcivil lawsหรือกฎหมายลายลักษณ์อักษรในปัจจุบัน
