การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมาย เพื่อศึกษาพัฒนาการความสามารถด้านการพูดภาษาอังกฤษ เพื่อการสื่อสารโดยใช้กิจกรรมการพูดเออการสื่อสาร กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ประจําภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปการศึกษา 2550 โรงเรียนเลศหล้าถนนกาญจนาภิเษก (หลักสูตรภาษาอังกฤษ ) จํานวน 20 คน ที่ไดจากการสุ่มตัวอย่างอย่างง่าย ใช้ระยะเวลาในการทดลอง 8 สัปดาห์ สัปดาห์ละละ 2 ชั่วโมง รวม 16 ชั่วโมง เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการทดลองและเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล คือ แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ กิจกรรมการพูดเพื่อการสื่อสาร จํานวน 6 แผน แบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถด้านการพูด ภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารก่อนและหลังการทดลอง แบบประเมินตนเองด้านการพูดภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อ การสื่อสาร แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมการพูดภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสาร สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าร้อยละ ค่าความเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และสถิติทีแบบไมเป็นอิสระจากกัน (t-test for dependent samples) และ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล โดยใช้คอมพิวเตอร์โปรแกรมประมวลผลสําเร็จรูป SPSS
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า
ความสามารถในการพูดภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารโดยใช้กิจกรรมการพูดเพื่อการสื่อสารของกลุ่มตัวอย่างสูงกวาก่อนการทดลอง อย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01 สอดคลองกับผลการวิเคราะห์จากแบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมการพูดภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารและแบบ ประเมินตนเองด้านการพูดภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสาร
