การท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย เป็นรัฐวิสาหกิจที่อยู่ภายใต้การกำกับดูแลของกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา ซึ่งภารกิจในการพัฒนาและส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทย โดยมีการบริการข้อมูลการท่องเที่ยวภายในประเทศทั้ง 77 จังหวัด ไว้บริการนักท่องเที่ยวในรูปแบบต่างๆ อาทิเช่น call center 1672 เอกสารประกอบและแผนที่ ซึ่งปัญหาที่พบคือข้อมูลที่มีจัดไว้ให้บริการนักท่องเที่ยวนั้นยังคงเป็นข้อมูลที่ยังไม่ได้รับการปรับปรุง ทำให้อาจเกิดความผิดพลาดและความไม่สะดวกในการให้บริการนักท่องเที่ยว
ดังนั้นผู้จัดทำจึงได้จัดทำโครงงานนี้ขึ้นเพื่อเป็นการแก้ปัญหาดังกล่าวโดยการสำรวจและเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลสถานที่พักที่ทันสมัยและเป็นปัจจุบันมาทำการอัพเดทข้อมูลในระบบ Imind เพื่อให้เกิดความสะดวกและง่ายต่อการให้บริการนักท่องเที่ยว และคาดว่าจะสามารถแก้ปัญหาที่กล่าวมาข้างต้นได้ โครงงานนี้จึงมุ่งหวังให้เป็นประโยชน์และเป็นแนวทางสำหรับพนักงานในกองงานรวมถึงนักท่องเที่ยวและนักศึกษาในโครงการสหกิจทุกท่าน
