การสำรวจครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ (1) เพื่อต้องการทราบถึงเวลาการเข้าใช้ห้องสมุดของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 โรงเรียนสมุทรปราการ ปีการศึกษา 2558 (2) เพื่อนำข้อมูลมาวิเคราะห์เกี่ยวกับการใช้ห้องสมุดของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 โรงเรียนสมุทรปราการ ว่ามีการใช้ห้องสมุดอย่างไร สาเหตุที่ไม่ค่อยเข้าห้องสมุด และนำข้อมูลเหล่านี้มาพิจารณาลายละเอียดต่างๆในงานวิจัย (3) เพื่อทราบสิ่งที่นักเรียนต้องการใช้บริการภายในห้องสมุด 2 กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้มาจากการสุ่มจากตัวอย่างโดยวิธีการสุ่มแบบเจาะจง จำนวน 80 คนเครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล เป็นแบบสอบถาkมเกี่ยวกับการใช้ห้องสมุด เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม ที่คณะผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น หลังจากได้รับแบบสอบถามกลับคืนมาแล้วคณะผู้วิจัยได้นำข้อมูลเหล่านั้นมาวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ค่าความถี่และค่าร้อยละ


ผลการศึกษาพบว่า นักเรียนที่เข้าห้องสมุดส่วนใหญ่คือนักเรียนหญิง คิดเป็นร้อยละ 65.6 ทั้งนี้อาจจะเป็นเพราะนักเรียนหญิงมีภูมิต้านทานน้อยกว่านักเรียนชายหรืออาจจะอ่อนแอกว่าก็ได้ นักเรียนส่วนใหญ่ที่เข้าห้องสมุดมากที่สุดกำลังศึกษาอยู่ในระดับชั้น ม.2/2ทั้งนี้อาจจะเป็นเพราะนักเรียนในระดับชั้น ม.2/2 เป็นห้องประจำของผู้วิจัยจึงมีการทราบถึงการเข้าใช้ห้องสมุดมากที่สุด
