โครงการอ่างเก็บน้ําคลองท่างิ้ว หมู่ที่ 1 บ้านท่างิ้ว ตําบลท่างิ้ว อําเภอห้วยยอด จังหวัดตรัง

ความเป็นมาของโครงการ :
ราษฎรตําบลท่างิ้ว ตําบลหนองช้างแล่น และตําบลห้วยนาง ได้มีหนังสือของพระราชทานสร้างอ่างเก็บน้ำและระบบส่งน้ำ เมื่อวันที่ 25 กันยายน 2532 ต่อมาสํานักราชเลขาธิการได้มีหนังสือที่ รล 0005/3231 ลงวันที่ 2 มีนาคม 2533 แจ้งกรม ฯ ว่าได้นําความกราบบังคมทูลพระกรุณาทราบฝ่าละอองธุลีพระบาทแล้วโปรดเกล้าโปรดกระหม่อม ให้รับโครงการอ่างเก็บน้ำคลองท่างิ้วไว้เป็นโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดําริ
ที่ตั้งของโครงการ :
หัวเขื่อนคลองท่างิ้ว ตั้งอยู่บนคลองท่างิ้ว ในเขตตําบลคลองท่างิ้ว อําเภอห้วยยอด จังหวัดตรัง ระยะเวลาก่อสร้าง 7 ปี (2537 – 2543) ขนาดความจุ 18.50 ล้านลูกบาศก์เมตร
วัตถุประสงค์ของโครงการ :
1. เพื่อใช้เป็นแหล่งเก็บกักน้ำ ต้นน้ำบริเวณหุบเขาควนหินแก้ว เหนือน้ำตกหลาด่าน สําหรับเป็นแหล่งน้ำต้นทุนไว้ทําการเกษตรกรรม พื้นที่ประมาณ 12,700 ไร่ ฤดูแล้งและภาวะขาดแคลนน้ำในฤดูฝน หรือในระยะฝนทิ้งช่วงของฤดูกาลเพาะปลูกบริเวณที่ราบ ตําบลท่างิ้ว ตําบลหนองช้างแล่น และ ตําบลห้วยนาง ให้สามารถประกอบการเกษตรกรรมได้อย่างต่อเนื่องตลอดฤดูกาลของการเพาะปลูก
2. เพื่อใช้เป็นแหล่งเก็บกักน้ำ สำหรับการอุปโภค – บริโภค ในฤดูแล้งหรือช่วงที่ราษฎรประสบปัญหาความเดือดร้อนเนื่องจากขาดแคลนน้ำประมาณ 22 หมู่บ้าน ใน 3 ตำบล ดังกล่าวข้างต้น และตำบลใกล้เคียงที่สามารถช่วยเหลือได้
3. เพื่อยกฐานะความเป็นอยู่ของราษฎรในพื้นที่ ที่ได้รับประโยชน์จากโครงการ ฯ ให้ดีขึ้นโดยการสนับสนุนแหล่งน้ำ ซึ่งเป็นปัจจัยพื้นฐานของผลผลิตทางด้านการเกษตรกรรม อุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยว ฯลฯ
4. เพื่อเพิ่มความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของป่าไม้ต้นน้ำ โดยมีปริมาณน้ำในอ่างเก็บน้ำสามารถยกระดับน้ำใต้ดินบริเวณป่าไม้ต้นน้ำ คงความชุ่มชื้นของทรัพยากรป่าไม้ธรรมชาติไว้
5. เพื่อเป็นแหล่งน้ำดินสำหรับการประปาของอำเภอห้วยยอดในอนาคต
ผลการดำเนินงานของโครงการ :
กรมชลประทาน ได้ดำเนินการศึกษา รายละเอียด สำรวจ และออกแบบโครงการ พร้อมทั้งก่อสร้างอ่างเก็บน้ำคลองท่างิ้ว และระบบส่งน้ำ รวมความยาวประมาณ 13.10 กิโลเมตร เสร็จสมบูรณ์ ปี พ.ศ. 2543 โดยอ่างเก็บน้ำมีสัน
เขื่อนกว้าง 8 เมตร ยาว 330 เมตร สูง 40 เมตร สามารถเก็บกักน้ำได้ 18.50 ล้านลูกบาศก์เมตร


ประโยชน์ของโครงการ :
1. สามารถส่งน้ำช่วยเหลือพื้นที่การเกษตรบางส่วนในพื้นที่ ตําบลท่างิ้ว ตําบลหนองช้างแล่น ตําบลห้วยนางและตําบลใกล้เคียง ที่อยู่ราบท้ายน้ำของอ่างเก็บน้ำคลองท่างิ้วในยามขาดแคลนน้ำหรือฝนทิ้งช่วงได้พื้นที่ชลประทานประมาณ 12,700 ไร่ และช่วยเหลือการเพาะปลูกพืชไร่ในฤดูแล้งประมาณ 5,600 ไร่

3. สามารถเพิ่มความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของป่าไม้ต้นไม้ โดยที่ปริมาณน้ำในอ่างเก็บน้ำสามารถยกระดับน้ำใต้ดินบริเวณป่าไม้ต้นน้ำ ให้ความชุ่มชื้นของทรัพยากรป่าไม้ธรรมชาติ
