การวิจัยนี้เป็นวิจัยกึ่งทดลอง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบดัชนีมวลกายของนักศึกษาพยาบาลที่มีภาวะโภชนาการเกินในกลุ่มทดลอง ก่อนและหลังการดื่มชาหญ้าดอกขาว และเพื่อเปรียบเทียบดัชนีมวลกายของนักศึกษาพยาบาลที่มีภาวะโภชนาการเกินระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มตัวอย่าง เป็นนักศึกษาพยาบาลที่มีภาวะโภชนาการเกิน โดยใช้วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบง่าย (Simple Random Sampling) โดยวิธีการจับฉลากจากผู้ที่มีคุณสมบัติ คือ ดัชนีมวลกายเกินเกณฑ์ สมัครใจเข้าร่วมการวิจัยและไม่มีประวัติโรคหัวใจและโรคไตจำนวน 60 คน โดยแบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลอง 30 คน และกลุ่มควบคุม 30 คน เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม ประกอบด้วย 3 ส่วน คือ 1) ข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล 2) ข้อมูลด้านสุขภาพ 3) ความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับชาหญ้าดอกขาว ผ่านการทดสอบความตรงของเนื้อหาของเครื่องมือจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจำนวน 3 ท่าน และทดสอบหาความเชื่อมั่นของเครื่องมือโดยการทดลองใช้ (Thy out) คำนวณค่าสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาตามวิธีของครอนบาค (Cronbach’s alpha coefficient) ได้ค่าความเชื่อมั่นจากการทดลองใช้ 0.67 และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์สำเร็จรูป ในการคำนวณค่าสถิติ ความถี่ ร้อยละ ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และค่าเฉลี่ย นำมาใช้วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเพื่ออธิบาย วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเปรียบเทียบดัชนีมวลกายกลุ่มทดลองโดยใช้สถิติทดสอบค่าที (Dependent t-test) และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเปรียบเทียบดัชนีมวลกายระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุมโดยใช้สถิติทดสอบค่าที (Independent t-test)
