สะพานอุตตมานุสรณ์ หรือที่นิยมเรียกก

สะพานอุตตมานุสรณ์ หรือที่นิยมเรียกกันว่า สะพานมอญ เป็นสะพานไม้ที่ยาวที่สุดในประเทศไทย มีความยาว 850 เมตร และเป็นสะพานไม้ที่ยาวเป็นอันดับ 2 ของโลกรองจากสะพานไม้อูเบ็ง ในประเทศพม่า[1] เป็นสะพานที่ข้ามแม่น้ำซองกาเรีย ที่ตำบลหนองลู อำเภอสังขละบุรี จังหวัดกาญจนบุรี

สะพานนี้สร้างขึ้นโดยดำริของ หลวงพ่ออุตตมะ เจ้าอาวาสวัดวังก์วิเวการาม ในปี พ.ศ. 2529 จนถึง พ.ศ. 2530[2] โดยใช้แรงงานของชาวมอญ เป็นสะพานไม้ที่ใช้สัญจรไปมาของชาวมอญและชาวไทยที่อาศัยอยู่บริเวณนี้ ปัจจุบันเป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่มีชื่อเสียงแห่งหนึ่งของจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี[3]

ในวันที่ 28 กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. 2556 เวลา 18.30 น. สะพานอุตตมานุสรณ์ได้พังทลายขาดเป็น 2 ท่อนในช่วงกลางสะพาน ความยาวประมาณ 30 เมตร เนื่องจากเกิดเหตุฝนตกหนักติดต่อกันนานถึง 3 วัน ทำให้เกิดน้ำป่าไหลเชี่ยวกรากจากทุ่งใหญ่นเรศวร พัดขยะตอไม้ลงสู่แม่น้ำซองกาเลีย ปะทะกับเสาสะพานทำให้เกิดขาดกลาง[4] และเสียหายเพิ่มเป็น 70 เมตร ในเที่ยงของวันต่อมา[5]

หลังจากผ่านไป 1 ปี การซ่อมแซมสะพานแห่งนี้ก็ยังไม่เสร็จ และเกินสัญญาว่าจ้าง 120 วัน เนื่องจากมีปัญหาด้านบริษัทผู้รับเหมาที่มีปัญหาไม่สามารถนำไม้ที่ต้องขนส่งมาจากภาคอีสานมาซ่อมแซมได้ เนื่องจากเกรงว่าจะผิดกฎหมาย[6]

ในที่สุด สะพานอุตตมานุสรณ์ก็ได้รับการสร้างจากทหารช่างจากกองพลทหารราบที่ 9 (พล.ร.9) ค่ายสุรสีห์ ร่วมกับชาวบ้านอำเภอสังขละบุรี ใช้เวลาเพียงแค่ 29 วัน และมีพิธีเปิดใช้อีกครั้งอย่างเป็นทางการในวันที่ 18 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2557 ซึ่งเป็นวันครบรอบชาตกาล 104 ปี หลวงพ่ออุตตมะ โดยจะมีการแสดงแสงสีเสียงด้วย
