เวสลีย์เข้ามาในห้องนอนของเขา เขาจ้องมองหนังสือที่ได้มา หน้าปกของมันเขียนว่า “ Prince’s Book “ เขารู้สึกกลัวกับหนังสือที่เขาหยิบมาจากในห้องที่พ่อของเขาบอกว่าไม่มีอยู่ แต่ในความกลัวนั้นเขาก็อยากรู้ว่าในหนังสือนั่นจะมีอะไรมากกว่าที่เขาเจอในห้องใต้ดินนั่นหรือเปล่า เขาหยิบหนังสือนั้นขึ้นมาเปิดอ่าน ในหน้าแรกของหนังสือได้มีกฎอยู่ 3 ข้อ คือ
1.ผู้ที่อ่านเล่มนี้ได้จะต้องเป็นเจ้าชาย หรือผู้ที่ถูกเลือกเท่านั้น

เวสลีย์อ่านกฎทั้ง 3 ข้อนี้แล้วก็รู้สึกประหลาดใจ เขาไม่เคยพบหนังสือเช่นนี้มาก่อน แต่เขาก็ตัดสินใจอ่านหนังสือเล่มนี้ต่อด้วยกล้าที่มี ในหน้าต่อไปมีตัวหนังสือเขียนด้วยน้ำหมึกว่า
“Are you sure to read this book ?” เวสลีย์กลับรู้สึกประหลาดใจขึ้นมาอีกครั้งเมื่อ เจอคำถามนั่น แต่เมื่อเปิดไปหน้าต่อไปกลับเป็นหน้าว่างเปล่า ไม่มีตัวหนังสืออะไรอีกเลย หรือว่าหนังสือนี่จะให้เขาตอบคำถามนั้นนะ “Yes,I’m sure” เมื่อเวสลีย์ตอบคำถามนั้น เขาก็รู้สึกได้ว่ามีลมพัดเข้ามาในห้องของเขาทั้งที่หน้าต่างปิดสนิท ทำให้หน้าหนังสือของเขาโบกพัดไปมาและ ตัวหนังสือกับภาพมากมายก็ปรากฏบนหน้าต่อๆไปในหนังสือ เขารู้สึกตกใจเป็นอย่างมาก แต่ด้วยความสนใจทำให้เวสลีย์อ่านหนังสือต่อไป โดยเขาไม่ได้รู้สึกตัวเลยว่ามีร่างๆหนึ่งกำลังจ้องมองเขาอยู่ภายในห้องนอนของเขาเอง และหนังสือเล่มนี้จะทำให้ชีวิตของเขาเปลี่ยนไปตลอดกาล
