ประวัติความเป็นมาของงาน “วันไหลพัทยา”
เทศกาลงาน วันไหล พัทยา หรือ วันไหลพัทยา นี้ เป็นเทศกาลที่ได้รับความนิยมของชาวเมืองพัทยาและทำต่อๆกันมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน เทศกาลวันไหลพัทยา ถือว่าเป็นเป็นประเพณีเชื่อมโยงและเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของประเพณีสงกรานต์
เนื่องจาก เทศกาลวันไหลพัทยานั้นจะนิยมจัดขึ้นในช่วง วันที่ 16-20 เมษายน ของทุกปี ซึ่ง ประเพณีสงกรานต์ในภาคกลาง จะเล่นกันระหว่างวันที่ 13-14-15 ของเดือนเมษายน ส่วนในภาคตะวันออกนั้นจะนิยมแตกต่างจากที่อื่น คือ จะเริ่มเล่นสาดน้ำกันประมาณวันที่ 16 หรือ 17-18-19 และ 20 เมษายน โดยเรียกว่า “วันไหล” นั้นเอง
