และการรําที่งดงาม กําเนิดของโนรานั้น สันนิษฐานกันว่าได้รับอิทธิพลจากการร่ายรําของอินเดียโบราณก่อนสมัย
ศรีวิชัย ที่มาจากพ่อค้าชาวอินเดีย สังเกตได้จากเครื่องดนตรีที่เรียกว่า เบ็ญจสังคีต อันประกอบด้วย

ถ่ายทอดศิลปะการรําโนราแก่ผู้อื่นได้เป็นอย่างดีจึงได้รับเชิญจากสถาบันการศึกษาต่างๆ ให้ไปสอนการรําโนรา
ให้แก่นักเรียน นักศึกษา ท่านจึงมีลูกศิษย์ลูกหาเป็นจํานวนมาก นอกจากนั้น ท่านยังได้สร้างสรรค์ผลงานด้าน
วรรณกรรมโนราไว้มากมาย ส่วนใหญ่แล้วมีรูปแบบการประพันธ์ในรูปของบทกลอนประเภทต่างๆ ได้แก่
กลอนสุภาพ (กลอนแปด) กลอนสี่ กาพย์ยานี๑๑ อันมีเนื้อหาหรือแนวคิดที่ครอบคลุมในหลายๆ ด้าน เช่น
คุณธรรม จริยธรรม ปรัชญา คติธรรม ครอบครัว ความรัก สังคม สภาพแวดล้อม ศิลปวัฒนธรรม ฯลฯ เช่น
เตือนครูธรรมะในท่ารํา ละครของโลก บทเพลงทับเพลงโทน บทพราน เตือนไทย เป็นต้น
ตลอดชีวิตการเป็นศิลปินของโนรายก ชูบัว ได้พยายามรักษาแบบแผนของโนราแบบดั้งเดิมเอาไว้อย่าง

ครบชุด จึงจะเป็นโนรา”
การสั่งสมประสบการณ์
โนรายก ชูบัว เกิดเมื่อ พ.ศ. ๒๔๖๕ ที่บ้านทะเล อําเภอควนขนุน จังหวัดพัทลุง จบการศึกษา
ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ ๖ จากโรงเรียนวัดทะเลน้อย จากนั้นได้อุปสมบท ๑ พรรษา และสอบได้นักธรรมตรีเมื่อ
ลาสิกขาได้เข้ารับราชการตํารวจเป็นเวลา ๒ ปีณ สถานีตํารวจภูธร อําเภอเมืองพัทลุง ขณะนั้นได้แต่งงานกับ
นางสาวกล่ํา พงค์ชนะ ต่อมาได้ลาออกจากราชการและย้ายครอบครัวมาอยู่ที่อําเภอระโนด จังหวัดสงขลา
ชีวิตด้านการแสดง โนรายกได้หัดรําโนราตั้งแต่อายุ ๘ ปีกับโนราเลื่อน พงค์ชนะ และอยู่ประจําคณะ
โนราเลื่อนมาจนอายุ ๑๖ ปีจึงแยกมาตั้งคณะเอง ในระยะที่แยกโรงใหม่ๆ เมื่อถึงหน้าแล้งโนรายกจะนําคณะไป
แสดงอยู่ประจําในเขตจังหวัดภูเก็ตและพังงา ครั้งถึงหน้าฝนก็นําคณะกลับพัทลุง ช่วงที่ว่างจากการแสดงในระยะ
ดังกล่าว โนรายกได้ไปฝึกรําทําบทกับโนราวัน (เฒ่า) จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช ซึ่งเป็นโนราที่มีชื่อเสียงมากใน
การรําทําบทในสมัยนั้น ฝึกอยู่ประมาณ ๖ เดือนก็ชํานาญ โดยโนรายกได้เข้าพิธีครอบเทริด (พิธีผูกผ้าใหญ่) กับ
โนราวัน (เฒ่า) ด้วย ซึ่งถือเป็นพิธีศักดิ์สิทธิ์และมีความสําคัญมากต่อผู้ที่มีอาชีพเป็นโนรา โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง
สําหรับผู้ที่จะเป็นนายโรงโนรา หรือหัวหน้าคณะโนราต่อไป เสมือนได้รับประกาศนียบัตรที่ประกาศความเป็น
โนราโดยสมบูรณ์ตามแบบที่สืบทอดกันมาแต่โบราณ ภายหลังจากที่ลาออกจากราชการตํารวจ โนรายกก็มารํา
